Carson Fagerbakke
Carson Fagerbakke was born on May 13, 1982 in Bloomington, Minnesota to parents Sharon (née Lidholm) and Lars Fagerbakke. Carson’s father is a music teacher and she has two older brothers, Matt and Jesse. Growing up in a musical family, Carson started learning the violin at age three and quickly developed an interest in classical music. She continued her formal training as an undergraduate at the University of North Texas where she studied violin with professors Janet Barshay and SallyAnn Mason.
After college, Carson moved to New York City to pursue a career as a classical violinist. Her prodigious talent soon caught the attention of several prominent orchestras including the Cleveland Orchestra and the Israel Philharmonic, but it was her performance with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra that launched her professional career. During her four years with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Carson made numerous appearances throughout North America performing both solo concerts and chamber music recitals.
In 2013, Carson relocated to Los Angeles to join the Los Angeles Philharmonic as their first female concertmaster. In this position, she leads both orchestra rehearsals and performances; playing an extensive repertoire spanning from Bach to contemporary works by composers such as James Levine and David Bowie.
Carson is currently based out of Los Angeles where she spends her time composing new pieces for symphony orchestra as well as working on her own solo projects.
Father Bill Fagerbakke
Father Bill Fagerbakke was a Lutheran pastor and father who dedicated his life to serving others. Carson Fagerbakke, his daughter, remembers him as an excellent role model who always put others first.
“He was always there for me, whether it was listening when I had problems or just being a good dad,” she says. “He never put himself before anyone else, and that’s something I learned from him.”
Carson became a pastor herself after her father’s death, and she continues to use his teachings as her guide. “I think the most important thing my dad taught me is that we’re all here to serve one another,” she says. “No matter what our differences are, we can come together and help each other.”
Childhood
Childhood is a time when you learn most about yourself. It’s also a time when your parents are the most important people in your life. Carson Fagerbakke says that her father, Carson Sr., was everything to her as a child. He always put her first, no matter what. As a result, she learned to be strong and independent.
Fagerbakke often reflects on the special bond she shared with her father. She remembers how much he loved spending time with her and would do anything for her, even if it meant sacrificing his own needs. He was always there for her when she needed him, no matter what. Even after he passed away, she still feels close to him and knows that he is always watching over her.
Childhood is the time when you learn to trust yourself and your own instincts. Carson Fagerbakke says that because of this experience, she has never been afraid to take risks or try new things. Her father showed her that anything is possible if you work hard enough for it. He was an inspiration to her and remains one of the greatest men in her life.
Professional Career
Carson Fagerbakke was born on October 1, 1981, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At the age of 12, Carson tragically lost her father, Hans Fagerbakke, who was killed in a car crash. Hans was Carson’s hero and role model. As a daughter, it was Carson’s dream to one day follow in her father’s footsteps and become a professional athlete.
In 2002, at the age of 18, Carson made her professional debut as a goalkeeper for the Washington Spirit of Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS). In 2003 and 2004 she played for the Western New York Flash of the WUSA. In 2005 she signed with Danish club Brøndby IF where she spent two seasons before returning to play for Washington in 2007.
In 2008 Carson joined Sky Blue FC of Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS). She remained with Sky Blue until 2011 when she retired from playing professional soccer.
Carson is not only an accomplished goalkeeper but also an artist and fashion designer. Her clothing line “Saints & Sinners” features stylish clothing designed specifically for women athletes. Carson also designs custom artwork for fans who purchase her products online. She is also an avid philanthropist and supporter of children’s charities around the world.

Personal Life
Carson Fagerbakke was born on January 9th, 1991, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to parents, Karen and Rick Fagerbakke. Carson enjoyed a long and happy childhood with her two sisters and brother. As a youngster, Carson was always active and competed in many sports including basketball, track and field, gymnastics, and swimming.
In high school Carson played varsity volleyball for the Gonzaga Bulldogs. While attending college at Notre Dame she continued playing volleyball for the Irish but also found time to play club baseball for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Elite team as well as participate in track and field.
Carson met her husband Cory during their freshman year at Notre Dame where he played lacrosse for the Irish while she competed on the synchronized swim team. After graduation they settled down in Minneapolis where they raised their daughter Elle together.
